Stoppage-time penalty against de Ligt, given after VAR review

Sunday, 27 October 2024 · 2024-25 · 90'

What happened

At 1-1, David Coote waved away West Ham's appeal after Matthijs de Ligt challenged Danny Ings. VAR Michael Oliver judged there was enough contact and sent Coote to the monitor. Coote gave the penalty and Jarrod Bowen scored the winner. The KMI panel later said the intervention was wrong. Erik ten Hag was sacked the next day.
